Instagram has recently launched new and exciting ways to share your snapshots or videos through your Instagram Stories and Instagram Direct. On Instagram Stories, you can now do Live Video while on Instagram Direct, you make your conversation with groups and friends more fun by playing around with the disappearing photos and videos features.
Go LIVE on Instagram
The Live feature was tested on Android a little less than a month ago. Live videos will fit into the Stories and when any of your followings starts using Live, you’ll see the small ‘Live’ icon under the thumbnail of their profile stories bar.
On a Live broadcast, your friends will get a notification so they can view real time. While you’re live, your friends can drop multiple comments, likes or both. Additionally, you can opt to pin a particular comment for all to see or just turn comments off.
Aside from your friends going Live, you can also search for new or trending live stories happening at the moment through Explore. Just tap “Top Live” to view and browse through live stories. To quickly skip other live stories, you can swipe either to the left or right
Now, if you want to go Live, just swipe right from feed to open the camera, tap the “Start Live Video” button and start video sharing. As of this time, you can go Live for up to an hour. Also , the Instagram Live feature is currently available to US market only, however, Instagram has assured through Instagram blog that it would be deployed globally in the weeks to come.
Share disappearing photos and videos on Instagram Direct
Make your chat time all the more entertaining by sending disappearing photos and videos to your groups, closest friends and relatives.
To begin playing with this recent addition to Instagram Direct, simply swipe right into the camera to snap a photo or record a video, then tap the arrow to send it privately to your group or separately to each of your buddies simultaneously. You can send pretty much whatever you can think of, unleash your funniest and most creative side to keep the good vibes rolling. Once your friends has seen or viewed what you sent, it will disappear from their inbox. Also, you’ll know if they watched it again or if they took a screenshot of it.
When you receive a disappearing photo or video from your friends, all you need to is either tap the new paper airplane icon at the top right corner of your feed or swipe left and you can see disappearing photos and videos in a bar at the top. Tap the ones with blue rings to see what your friends sent you. If sent within a group, you’ll see each member’s reactions and who else has seen viewed it. Have something to say? Just tap their faded profile photo and share your thoughts.
Unlike Instagram Live, the disappearing photos and videos in Instagram Direct will be made available to all users at the same time. However, regardless if your account is set to public or private, you are limited to sending a disappearing photo or video to your followers only.
